We encourage you to read through our frequently asked questions, however, if you can’t find the answers to your questions please don’t hesitate to reach out to our Arlington, TX or Hurst, TX orthodontic office!
The short answer is yes. While both traditional braces and Invisalign have their benefits, Invisalign treatment relies on clear aligners that are virtually invisible, meaning Invisalign wearers can smile more confidently in social situations than they might be wearing braces! With Invisalign, there are no wires or brackets rubbing against the inside of your mouth, meaning Invisalign often feels more comfortable than traditional braces. There are many factors to consider and not every patient is a candidate for Invisalign treatment. Contact us today to set up a consultation with our team to discuss which option is best for your teenager!
22 hours per day is the magic number to achieving a smile that looks and feels great. Essentially, Invisalign should remain in your teen’s mouth as much as possible for their treatment to be effective. That being said, aligners can (and should) be temporarily removed when eating, brushing, and flossing. At Park Place Dentistry & Orthodontics, we support our patients to make sure they can successfully follow the steps and care needed for Invisalign.
Our orthodontist will only recommend the removal of Invisalign aligners when eating, drinking anything besides water, brushing teeth, and flossing. This is one big advantage that Invisalign has over braces. Unlike traditional braces, patients are not limited to what you can eat as long as you remove them first. For added convenience, each Invisalign Teen aligner is equipped with a built-in “Blue Dot Wear Indicator,” which alerts you (and your child) if the Invisalign trays need to be worn more.
Invisalign alignment trays are molded entirely of clear plastic, making it nearly impossible for friends to see them on your teeth.
The likelihood of Invisalign impacting your child’s speech is very low due to the thin, plastic material. If any impacts were to occur, they would be very minor and possibly only noticeable by your child, the wearer.
Keep in mind, Invisalign is gaining widespread popularity. If it caused major speech impediments, they wouldn’t be very popular at all!
